What is Rooted In Nature?
Children have an innate ability to experiment and create. Sometimes, they just need a little prompting and direction in order to begin. Rooted in Nature educates and motivates children of all ages through hands-on nature inspired play.
What we offer...
- Creative, outdoor classes for children ages 2-6 and their caregiver. During our classes, your child and their caregiver will engage in creative nature-based play both together and with others children their age.
- Jump on over to our YouTube channel and explore the outdoors. Our library of VIDEOS contain nature-inspired activities that you can do in your own backyard. Our videos and directions are brief, to inspire creativity and experimentation among the learners.
- If it's more time in nature you are craving, immerse yourself in the outdoors with a scavenger hunt from our FREEBIES page.
- Nature Putty kits make great gifts for friends and family. Stop by our online STORE and watch for new theme kits available throughout the year.

A teacher at heart, Hannah took a professional pause from teaching 1st and 2nd graders to raise three children as a full-time mother and homemaker.
Hannah obtained two bachelors degrees, in Early Childhood Education and in Elementary Education, from Susquehanna University. During her eleven-year teaching career, she went on to earn two
A teacher at heart, Hannah took a professional pause from teaching 1st and 2nd graders to raise three children as a full-time mother and homemaker.
Hannah obtained two bachelors degrees, in Early Childhood Education and in Elementary Education, from Susquehanna University. During her eleven-year teaching career, she went on to earn two masters degrees in Literacy with a Reading Specialist certification and in Educational Development & Strategies, from Wilkes University.
In 2017, Hannah turned her full attention to raising her two (at the time) children and quickly became aware of the need for fun and educational programming for young mothers in her community.
A seed was planted, and Rooted in Nature was born.

Managing the operations for Rooted in Nature, Joe's efforts enable Hannah's creativity to flourish and positively impact children and parents interested in outdoor learning.
Joe is a 2003 graduate of Gettysburg College where he earned bachelors degrees in Management and in Philosophy. He had the good fortune to marry Hannah in 2014. He

Joe spends his days leading a national team of Sales and Marketing professionals for a Harrisburg-based insurance firm.
